Privacy policy
CarolinaFlu.org collects only the information needed to administer the open letter, protect its integrity, and report an accurate signature count.
Information we collect
When you sign, we collect your name, email address, ZIP code, optional affiliation, your public-display choice, consent version, and submission time. We also create a privacy-preserving hashed network token to help prevent automated abuse and duplicate submissions.
How we use it
We use this information to record and administer your signature, prevent fraud and duplicate signing, maintain the signature count, and respond to questions about a submission. We do not sell signer information or use it for unrelated marketing.
What may be public
Your name and affiliation may be displayed only if you select that option. Your email address and ZIP code are never displayed publicly.
Storage and service providers
Signature records are stored using the infrastructure that operates this website. Service providers may process limited data as necessary to host, secure, and maintain the site. Administrative access is restricted to the project owner.
Retention and removal
Records are retained while the open letter is active and as reasonably necessary for integrity, security, and recordkeeping. A signer may request correction or removal through the project’s published contact channel. Removed signatures are excluded from the public count.
Children
This petition is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy as the project develops. The effective date above identifies the current version.
